the bombĀ is a groundbreaking multimedia installation that immerses audiences in the strange, compelling, and unsettling reality of nuclear weapons. Almost eight decades have passed since a city was destroyed by an atomic bomb, but the danger never went away. We are now confronted by a world in which nine nations possess about 12,000 nuclear weapons. All of those nations are modernizing their arsenals, and the United States, Russia, and China are poised at the brink of an unprecedented three-way nuclear arms race.Ā the bombĀ places the viewer in the middle of the story of nuclear weapons, from the Trinity Test in 1945 to the extraordinary nuclear threats we face today. The hour-long film explores the intersection of art, politics, technology and existential risk.Ā
