This is a sample supplemental comment for the draft Pit Production Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS). Plutonium pits are the fissile cores or “triggers” of nuclear weapons. For legal and procedural reasons, this comment should be accepted despite being filed after the official comment period ended on July 16, 2026. This is justified by the fact that the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has withheld and is still withholding crucial documents needed for well-informed comment.
