Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office Announces Three Cleanup Forums

EMLA has scheduled three more Cleanup Forums — Espanola (Aug. 8), Taos (Aug. 15), and Santa Fe (Aug. 22). All are from 5:30 to 7pm. We hope these next forums will allow for public input, unlike the first one. Afterall, the word “forum” implies an exchange of ideas. It is important that the public participate in cleanup decisions at Los Alamos, especially since current plans are to leave most of the waste in place.

From the EMLA flyer:

Please join the Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA) and its contractor N3B at an upcoming forum on the legacy cleanup mission at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The Española, Taos, and Santa Fe meetings will focus on the same topics as the forum held in Los Alamos on June 26, 2019.

As with the forum held in Los Alamos, the evenings will feature discussions on:

• The Environmental Management mission at LANL and its core values

• The community’s role and importance in decisions related to legacy cleanup

• Opportunities to stay involved
