SANTA FE — The New Mexico Environment Department (“NMED”) is pleased to announce the next quarterly public engagement meeting to discuss issues related to scientific monitoring and environmental oversight of Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The meeting will be on January 9, 2020 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the University of New Mexico Los Alamos Campus, 4000 University Drive, Building 6, Room 631, Los Alamos, New Mexico. The primary topic of the meeting is the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s (“LANL”) Order on Consent (“Consent Order”) signed by the United States Department of Energy and NMED in 2016.
“The Los Alamos community asked for this discussion on the LANL Consent Order and we listened,” said Environment Department Secretary James Kenney. “Collaborating with stakeholders is essential to protecting public health and the environment.”
